This is natural wool flannel to be used for a Castor Oil Pack recommended by the Edgar Cayce Readings. It is absorbent and holds the necessary amount of oil. Have not washed it, therefore cannot comment on that. Overall an excellent product. By the way, you do not have to wash it after each application

I used this wool flannel in castor oil packs. Before using it, it's necessary to boil the wool to get rid of impurities. But be careful. If left on a stove too long, it will burn and end up with a really nasty, burnt wool smell. I've used castor oil packs over my liver in the past. Wool flannel is recommended by Cayce over cotton. I also used the packs to reduce inflammation before I had an operation. When pain relievers wouldn't work, the castor oil packs did. My experience is purely anecdotal and not a substitute for advice from a medical physician. Please use these packs under the supervision of a doctor.

The wool flannel was as described and the castor oil soaks in very well. I put mine in a glass jar in the fridge. I just don't like using plastic bags or containers. Using plastic, you wonder if they're BPA free. Just something to think about. The wool flannel does a great job at holding in the heat. I have washed the wool flannel and re-used it, it seems to work fine. My husband bought one, which I use and now I bought this one for a friend. I would recommend it for the castor oil packs! Love this product! I do my castor oil pack most evenings and this is the perfect way to end the day! Very durable and holds heat for a long period.
