Clean and dry the wound and surrounding skin using standard wound care protocols. Remove the dressing from the sterile pouch without touching the absorbent pad or adhesive area. Center the pad over the wound, ensuring full coverage with the adhesive border contacting intact skin. Smooth the adhesive edges from the center outward to ensure good contact and prevent wrinkling or lift.
